FIFA warns it could ban ‘Super League’ players from World Cup
World football governing body doesn’t endorse the creation of the so-called Super League, which has been planned by Europe’s richest clubs.
In light of recent media speculation about the creation of a closed European “Super League” by some European clubs, FIFA and the six confederations (AFC, CAF, Concacaf, CONMEBOL, OFC and UEFA) once again would like to reiterate and strongly emphasize that such a competition would not be recognised by either FIFA or the respective confederation. Any club or player involved in such a competition would as a consequence not be allowed to participate in any competition organised by FIFA or their respective confederation – said FIFA in a statement. Premier League will continue to broadcast all games in the UK
English top-flight football league has announced that all games from January 30 until the end of February will be broadcast live in the United Kingdom.
As the third lockdown in the UK continues, the league has made a decision to deliver televised coverage to supporters who cannot come to the stadiums.
“The Premier League and its clubs are committed to an accessible solution for fans,” the league’s statement reads. “These plans have been made with the cooperation of our broadcast partners, working with us to deliver these additional matches while stadiums are missing the supporters who are such an integral part of the game.” Read more
Fantasy sports betting to arrive soon in Louisiana
The Louisiana Gaming Control Board adopted final regulations and licensing application needed for companies that want to operate fantasy sports betting, reports the Associated Press.

The Golden State Warriors star hit five 3-pointers in his team’s lost game against Utah Jazz.
