Europe’s top football leagues are looking for ways to resume their seasons.

Premier League’s clubs are declaring their willingness to complete the season. However, the official statement from the league reads that the Premier League will not resume at the beginning of May – and that the 2019-20 season will only return when it is safe and appropriate to do so.

Spanish Football Federation is considering awarding next season’s spots in European competitions on the basis of teams’ current league positions, if La Liga’s season cannot be completed. Read more

NBA is considering return options, but a timetable is still lacking

The NBA Commissioner Adam Silver remains hopeful that the league will be able to resume its season. However, there is no roadmap or timetable for such resumption. Everything is on the table, including potentially delaying the beginning of next season, Silver told reporters.

Based on the reports that we got from varied outside officials, current public health officials … we are not in a position to make any decisions. And it’s unclear when we will be, the league’s commissioner said in a conference call. Read more
