Ties between sports betting and media expected to deepen in 2022

The sports media landscape has been changing in the US since betting became legal in numerous states.

Sports betting is now a vital and piece of American sports media. Publishers and broadcasters have embraced wagering as a means of increasing revenue and fan engagement. The betting industry, for its part, is getting increasingly popular thanks, among other things, to its presence in the media.

Legal sports betting arrives in Maryland

The state of Maryland has officially launched sports betting joining 30 other US states and D.C.

Sports betting is expected to bring an estimated $15 million a year in state revenue to be used for education programs.

European football clubs concerned with safety of players during Africa Cup of Nations

The Confederation of African Football has denied the rumours that the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations could be moved away from Cameroon due to the recent discovery of a new variant of Covid-19.

Europe’s clubs have expressed concerns over player safety during the event.

The European Club Association’s statement has said: “The board agreed to engage urgently with Fifa to ensure all necessary precautions are in place to protect players and club interests as the health situation continues to deteriorate in an alarming manner.” Read more

Chinese Super League has come back amid financial crisis

The league has ended its four-month break, but the future of some teams remains unclear due to a financial crisis.

This year we’ve already witnessed the demise of last year’s champion Jiangsu FC. Chinese media inform that 11 of the 16 CSL clubs are behind on wage payments to players.

6) You have the right to access the personal data held about you and to have your data rectified or erased or to restrict or to object to the processing as well as the right to data portability.
