La Liga launches licensed sports bars around the globe

Spanish’s La Liga is unveiling a unique concept: a chain of licensed sports bars to be opened around the globe. The ‘LaLiga Twentynine’s’ bars are going to support the league’s international expansion.

The bars are expected to combine gastronomy, entertainment and football to create ‘a unique and interactive environment’.

Óscar Mayo, business, marketing and international development director at LaLiga, announced that the league has plans to open 30 such places within the next seven years. Read more

Sports fans have been allowed to come back to the venues in some places in Europe and around the world. Still, many rules and restrictions have remained in force. Here’s a closer look.

Betting revenue goes up in Delaware

The Delaware Lottery Commission has released the official sports betting revenue numbers. According to the official data, betting revenue saw a 146.4% increase from August.

The betting handle went up by 143.3% from August 2020. The growing numbers could be attributed to the start of the NFL season and the NBA playoffs.

Burger King makes Stevenage FC the most-used FIFA 20 team

Barcelona? Real? Bayern? Stevenage FC? The fast-food chain’s genius marketing campaign managed to make the League Two  (English Fourth Division) team the most-used club in the EA Sports game.

Burger King began sponsoring the club at the beginning of the 2019/20 season – and then moved on to challenge FIFA 20 players around the globe to select the club when playing online or in Career Mode. This turned out to be a really great idea…

One of the effects of playing games in bubbles is that the players close friends and family members are not allowed to support them in the venues.
