Lithuanian authorities warn betting industry regarding illegal activities

The Lithuanian Gaming Control Authority, which is part of the Ministry of Finance, has issued a warning to the country’s betting and gaming industry regarding illegal remote betting websites.

Under Lithuanian law, the Gaming Control Authority can implement regulatory measures and impose fines against operators who violate Gaming Law, notably holding the power to initiate payment blocking and DNS blocking. Read more

Sports betting has taken Illinois by storm

Professional sports leagues in the US had long rejected betting, but the moneymaking potential of the industry is clearly changing their hearts and minds.

Illinois-based sports franchises are a good example of the changing approach, as Cubs signed a $100 million deal with DraftKings to build an interactive retail betting parlour. According to the CIES Football Observatory 2021 rankings, the Dutch team nurtured 81 players currently active in 31 top divisions of UEFA member countries, six more than Shakhtar Donetsk.
