Google Play to allow gambling apps in 15 more countries, including US

From March 1, Google will lift its ban on betting and gambling apps in countries like the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, and Japan. Currently, they are allowed only in four countries: Brazil, France, Ireland, and the UK.

Real-money betting and fantasy apps will be available in the following 19 countries: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Read more

Boris Johnson supports a ban on gambling shirt sponsorships in football

British Prime Minister is likely to support a ban on gambling industry shirt sponsorships across football, according to the Daily Telegraph.

According to the reports, Johnson’s cabinet members are ready to press ahead with drastic reforms to the UK gambling industry.

At the same time, the government is aware of the possible impact of a sponsorship ban, which would leave a ‘£110million-a-year dent’ on EPL and Championship club accounts.  Read more
