NBA All-Star Weekend. The new format was a smash hit!

It was for sure one of the best NBA All-Star Games in history. Have you seen that? Defence in the 4th quarter! Wow, was that done to honour the memory of Kobe Bryant and the Mamba mentality? Maybe, but for sure it gave us a great show! Let’s re-live it with STATSCORE.

Team LeBron wins the game

Team LeBron won the game 157-155, and both captains proved their greatness one more time. Giannis scored 25 points and made 11 rebounds, while Lebron had 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

We saw Antetokounmpo blocking James, a half-court buzzer-beater from Trae Young, and, most amazingly, some actual defensive play – especially in the 4th quarter. The Kobe Bryant MVP Award went to Kawhi Leonard, who scored 30 points, and added 7 rebounds to it – and all of that in just 20 minutes of play. Great show, exciting game, intense competition!

NBA Rising Stars

What a game! Just as I said, three-pointers scored from 12 meters were just not enough for Luka… He hit a buzzer-beater from half-court at the end of the second quarter. The funny thing is that Trae Young said 3 seconds before that shot “You can’t make it…” That was great, and don’t forget the Zion’s rim-bending slam dunk. Team USA won 151-131, and Miles Bridges was named the Most Valuable Player of the game. He scored 20 points, made 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Great game!

TacoBellSkills Challange

What news! The big man Edrice “Bam” Adebayo won that competition defying bookmakers who offered 10/1 for such an outcome. A huge surprise for all of us. We can also add something extra here: Bam made more three-pointers in the third round of the Skills Challange than in the entire 2019/2020 regular season. We are still waiting! Show us more of what you’ve got, Bam!

MTN DEW 3-point contest

Like always, we could almost touch heaven while standing on the ground. Davis Bertans (Wizards), Devin Booker (Suns) and Buddy Hield (Kings) proved that they are actually able to do that. The shooting guard from Phoenix scored 26 points in the final round. That was a great result but… the guy from Sacramento Kings beats Devin with his last shot, scoring 27 points! Anyway, Buddy admitted that the previous night he had some great fun in the city. So you can see that sometimes it pays off to chill out before meeting an important challenge in your life.

AT&T Slam Dunk

One of the best Slam Dunk contest in NBA history. Seriously. I’m not going to try to talk about Aaron Gordon feelings after his dunk over Taco Fall, because it’s always a subjective matter. Anyway… A great dunk from Dwight Howard shows he still can fly over the rim, while Pat Connaughton transformed into Billy Hoyle (played by Woody Harrelson) from White Men Can’t Jump. And he really showed us some pretty impressive dunks.

Both guys who made it into the final round, Gordon and Jones, showcased all of their best skills: between the legs, windmill, 360 dunks, oh come on! Take a look yourself!
